From the elegiac atmosphere of winter, to spring, to the summer festivals and autumn, the camera journeys through Ikaria’s celebrations—sometimes traditional, sometimes wildly Dionysian— guided by its one-of-a-kind violinists.

Why does this documentary exist?

Ikaria is globally known for the longevity of its people, as well as for its legendary festivals. Are these two connected—and if so, how? Over the course of one year, the documentary follows five distinctive violinists, capturing the calm rhythm of their lives in nature, all the way to the radiant summer when everything shifts and the festivals arrive—bringing celebration, local wine, and the iconic “Ikariotikos” dance.
